Wyatt is thisclose to crawling. He pushes up on all fours, lifts up one hand, then the other, then pulls both legs forward and then collapses.
Or maybe Wyatt's actually thisclose to standing since about 75% of the above attempts also include an inverted v/bottom in the air pose.
Or MAYBE Wyatt's really thisclose to figuring out how to go from his stomach to sitting since many of the above maneuvers then turn into him leaning on one hip trying to figure out how to finish shifting his weight to sit up.
So here's my question: if he continues to multi-task in this manner, how long until we have to childproof the living room and stop keeping the cameras on the coffee table?

Crawling and pulling into a sitting position are inter-related so they will probably come simultaneously so that probably gives you at least a 2 minute warning to start clearing the deck. I think you will still be faster than he is for a few hours. I love watching those experiments in moving. Millie better start keeping a closer eye on him because she will be a TARGET.
Yes, it will probably take him a little while to realize he can go ANYWHERE he wants. It will start from here to "that toy" then from "that toy" to Millie, then ANYWHERE he wants! So...anywhere from 15 min. to a day to baby proof! (Then again Jack didn't crawl until he was 9 1/2 mos. old so he might be slow....shhhh).
Like mom said, you'll have at least two minutes and it takes them a few hours to a few days to figure out exactly what this new skill can mean to them. But, if he's like Thomas, you'll have approximately 30 seconds from the time he figures out crawling to the time he pulls up, which is really when the trouble begins. Pulling up quickly leads to stair climbing which then quickly leads to attempting to scale the coffee table, the couch, the open dishwasher, etc. Thomas comes running when he hears the dishwasher open these days!
Im pretty excited about all these developments. And- for totally selfish reasons Im excited about baby gates going up next door (ha ha ). And Susan's comment about the scaling the coffee table and dishwasher-- touche. In the last 48 hours I've found Nathan sitting on the coffee table, using his Little People Parking Garage as a stepstool to start climbing the bookshelf as well as standing on a kitchen chair eyeing the kitchen table.
