I'm going to assume that many of these pictures speak for themselves. Up first: the beach, twice.
Then there was a meal outside at sunset:
Next up, a trip to the Wright Brothers Memorial. There was a great ranger's talk (it was an hour long and the kids lost interest quickly, though Jeff was riveted and did a great job of relaying the facts to me. The Wright Brothers? They were pretty amazing.) but since I ended up outside with our small people, I used the great setting for a photo shoot. I do love taking pictures of my kids. And I swear I tried to take more pictures of Wyatt but he was just a wee bit squirrelly and didn't exactly cooperate, so it was really Natalie's show.
We spent our last morning at Jockey's Ridge State Park in Nag's Head. It's the tallest natural sand dune system in the Eastern U.S. and it was really, really fun. There's no way you could pay me to go there in the summer - I can't even imagine how hot and sticky it would be - but this glorious fall day made it the perfect activity for running off excess energy before our ride home. And here again, I love taking pictures of my kids and the combination of sand, blue sky and generally cooperative subjects resulted in an ungodly number of photos....to which I'm now going to subject you.
That's a tiny little Wyatt who ran to the other dune - there were only two other families there so we let him have pretty free reign. He loved it! |
Is it any wonder they think he's a superhero? He carried them both through the sand, back to the boardwalk. I got tired carrying the diaper bag! |

Great pics! And girls are better subjects for photo shoots than boys (at least that has been our experiences lately as well!)
Great pictures of your "six days of fun." Both kids have grown and changed since we saw them. Natalie's hair has gotten noticeably longer and Wyatt's has gotten shorter--love the looks. And their superhero looks good and relaxed too. Thanks for sharing.
Great pictures! Love the one of Natalie running in the foreground with a blurry Wyatt running in the background! And the last picture, of course, is sweet. Love the piggy tail hair style!
Wonderful pictures! Glad to see Natalie has grown into the sweater, and at the right time of year! That's hard to judge! Hugs to all of you!
Love the pictures and love you all!
Thank you, Stephanie, for all the wonderful pictures. You have one good lookin' family!
